Danny Ward has served as vice president of operations of our drilling technology services and applications division since December 2005. Mr. Ward served as vice president of operations for Quantum Drilling Motors from 2002 until our acquisition of substantially all of the assets of that company in December 2005. Mr. Ward has 31 years of oil and natural gas industry experience, having held management positions with Weatherford, Drillex and Leam Drilling Systems prior to joining Quantum in 2002. Mr. Ward has experience in all aspects of the directional, horizontal and drilling motor services.
Pat Love has served as the General Manager - Drilling Technology Services and Applications - Diamondback-Quantum since July 2007. Prior to joining Diamondback-Quantum, Mr. Love served as the Houston Sales Manager for Weatherford responsible for a sales force for Drilling Services, Controlled Pressure Drilling, and Fracturing Services. From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Love served as the Mid-Con/Rockies Operations Manager of Drilling Services for Precision Energy Services which was acquired during this time by Weatherford. In this capacity, Mr. Love managed service delivery operations in Oklahoma City, Casper, and Midland. Mr. Love worked for Precision in multiple services segments/locations in a sales or corporate development capacity from 2001 to 2005. In 1996, Mr. Love joined Fleet Cementers initially as a district manager and ultimately became President from 1999 to 2001. From 1986 to 1996, Mr. Love worked as District Manager and eventually Managing Partner of KFE Wireline, Inc. where he managed sales and operations for their wireline services and tripled the business over a five year period. Mr. Love served Gene Powell Company in Longview, TX from 1981 to 1986 as an Operations Engineer responsible for design and supervision of drilling, completion, and workover operations. After graduating from Texas A&M in 1977 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Mr. Love worked in Texas for Halliburton’s stimulation and cementing services division as a Field, Staff and District Engineer.
Jeff "Duff" Smith has served as the General Manager of Drilling Technology Services and Applications – Diamondback-DDC since August 2007 through the acquisition of DDC. Prior to joining Diamondback-DDC, Mr. Smith was the General Manager for DDC, LLC from 1995 to 2007. Mr. Smith’s 32 year career in the directional and horizontal drilling industry also included positions with Sperry-Sun Drilling Services as an MWD operator and salesman from 1995 to 1998. Mr. Smith served as Sales Manager for DDC Inc. from 1991 to 1995. From 1988 to 1991, Mr. Smith owned and operated his own restaurant. From 1975 to 1988, Mr. Smith worked for Eastman Whipstock as a Gyroscopic Well-Bore Surveryor, District Surveyor, District Technical Coordinator and District Manager. Mr. Smith as worked the continental U.S., Ontario, Canada, Alaska and Nigeria.
